How the marketplace works today, in plain language.
1. The service
Sell Any Slab by Proxy Collectibles is an online auction house operated by a UAE brick-and-mortar shop. Proxy acts as the trusted intermediary between sellers and buyers of graded slabs and sealed product across Pokémon, One Piece, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and sports cards. Items flow seller → Proxy → buyer; payment flows buyer → Proxy → seller.
2. Registration & bidding approval
Registered users may browse, watch, and ask questions. Placing bids requires admin approval. Listing items requires an active (non-suspended, non-banned) account. Accounts must use accurate information.
3. Authentication
Proxy authenticates and verifies every item in hand before it is delivered to the winning buyer. Items found to be fake, altered, or materially not as described may be rejected, and the responsible party may receive a strike.
4. Fees
There is no buyer's premium. Sellers pay a commission equal to the greater of 5% of the hammer price or AED 250. Shipping & handling is a flat AED 100, split equally between buyer and seller (AED 50 each): the seller's AED 50 comes out of their proceeds and the buyer's AED 50 is added to what they pay. Seller proceeds are the hammer price minus commission and the seller's shipping share. Current values are published in the calculator and may be updated by Proxy.
5. Auctions, reserves & close
Listings run for a fixed term with no anti-sniping. A seller may set an optional reserve, shown to bidders only as met or not-met, and an optional Buy It Now price. At the end time, the highest bid at or above any reserve wins; otherwise the listing is a no-sale. If a buyer takes an item at its Buy It Now price, the auction ends immediately with that buyer as the winner.
6. Settlement & shipping
The seller ships the item to Proxy within the published window (unless it is already in hand). Proxy collects payment from the buyer (in person or via a manually issued payment link), ships the authenticated item to the buyer, and pays the seller their proceeds. There are no online card payments on this site in v1.
7. Reputation & strikes
Every profile starts at 5.0★. Proxy may issue strikes — for example for failure to ship or settle within the window, or for an item not as described. Reaching the strike threshold results in a ban from bidding and listing. Ratings are public; strikes are issued at Proxy's discretion and may be removed by an admin.
8. Disputes
Proxy may mark a transaction disputed and will mediate as the intermediary that holds and authenticates the item. An item that a winner fails to settle may be offered to the next-highest bidder (a second-chance offer).
9. Not a financial product
This is a marketplace for buying and selling collectibles by auction. It is not a financial product: there is no lending, no deposits held as security, and no investment scheme.
